About ANet

NEED, MISSION & GOALS

Need

Many urban, low-income school leaders and teachers lack the tools and support needed to consistently identify and close specific gaps in student learning.  More testing and data and larger investments in professional development on their own do not lead to higher student achievement. To close the achievement gap, schools need to connect these tools and support with specific objectives and milestones for raising academic performance.

Mission

The Achievement Network is committed to helping all students achieve academic excellence by providing urban, low-income schools with effective data-driven strategies to identify and close gaps in student learning and to embed these strategies into schools’ everyday routines to measurably close the achievement gap.

Goals

To be the premier provider of data-driven strategies that improve the academic achievement for all students by:

  • Providing the tools and support for schools to become largely self-sufficient in using data-driven strategies to raise student achievement;
  • Closing the achievement gap and raising student academic performance of Network schools at a higher rate than comparable schools and Networks; and
  • Developing a sustainable organization through recurring revenue from schools, districts, charter management organizations and state/federal contracts.
