COACHING & NETWORKS
Around each assessment cycle, ANet provides coaching to school leadership to help embed data-driven practices within schools’ everyday routines. School leadership then works with their teachers with the support of ANet’s coaches to implement instructional and curricular improvements based on assessment data.
ANet coaching focuses on:
- ‘Backwards planning’ achievement goals over a 3-5 year period
- Planning a set of data-driven professional development events for teachers within a school's calendar;
- Aligning curriculum to state standards;
- Using interim assessment data to inform instruction;
- Identifying key takeaways around content;
- Implementing process to take information and put it to use in the classroom, tutoring programs, etc.;
- Determining whether follow-up actions helped students master specific concepts;
- Establishing a school community that supports the optimal use of data; and
- Adapting ANet’s data-driven practices to enhance schools’ specific priorities.
Network
From the beginning, ANet has recognized the power of sharing performance data and effective practices across a Network of schools.
Network activities include:
- Sharing performance data on interim assessments;
- Providing regular forum for exchanging information, problem solving strategies and best practices; and
- Organizing specific events for teachers focusing on writing assessment questions and scoring open response questions.
