How The Achievement Network Works

Focusing on grades three to eight, ANet provides:

1. Data-driven practices and interim assessments to consistently identify and close gaps in student learning
  • Mathematics and English Language Arts interim assessments aligned to the scope and difficulty of state standards, administered every six to eight weeks;
  • Detailed institutional and teaching practices used by schools that are successfully closing the achievement gap and organized to meet schools’ specific needs; and
  • Interim assessments and practices that are regularly correlated to achievement on year-end state tests.

2. Achievement and practice tracking & benchmarking to drive improvement in student learning
  • Processes to set, track and reach achievement and practice objectives;
  • Tools to compare achievement and practice levels to similar schools in the Network;
  • On-going correlation between improvement in practice and gains in student achievement for schools and Networks.

3. Coaching and Network activities that embed data-driven practice as a consistent part of schools’ everyday routine
  • Regular coaching for school leadership teams linked to interim and yearly achievement and practice objectives; and
  • Network activities to share achievement data for specific learning standards and tested practices that motivate and support schools.
