Alyse joined ANet in 2012 to lead the strategic direction and development of ANet’s assessment products and resources. She began her career as a middle school teacher and dean in a New York City public school. After teaching, she joined the Division of Academics, Performance, and Support at the NYC Department of Education, coaching teachers, school leaders, and network leaders in data-driven instruction and school-based inquiry practices. She went on to lead the NYC DOE’s Periodic Assessment program, defining the DOE’s expectations on formative assessments and providing approximately 1600 NYC schools with a flexible portfolio of assessments, resources, and support designed to give teachers and leaders regular, timely feedback on students to help guide instruction and increase student achievement. Alyse has a B.A. from Binghamton University and an M.B.A. from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
