Meet A Team - Meet One of Our System Services Teams!

Our coaches bring the human element. They serve as thought partners to leaders, share best practices learned from experience, and channel the resources of our teams of specialists. CoachingFeat Team SS Kori is the key to helping school leaders use assessments and other data points appropriately to inform instruction across the ecosystem. Our coaches also help leaders think through the design and implementation of system-wide curriculum strategies, school-wide instructional priorities, and improvement practices.

In ANet’s job-embedded, system and district coaching partnership, our coaches work with the leadership team to identify inequities that exist for students and prioritize what must change in instruction to address them. Our coaches support leaders so that they are equipped to provide the necessary direction and development for their team in order for that change to happen.

The members of this system-based coaching team managed by Coach Impact Lead Kori Hamner are passionate about helping students. All former educators, this team balances between being a thought partner and a cheerleader for the educational leaders they serve. This insightful team shares their “why” for working at ANet, why educational equity is important, how their team contributes to ANet’s mission, and some of their favorite team moments.

What’s your why?

“I'm passionate about my role at ANet because as a former coach and leader, I didn't have many opportunities to be coached and grow my own practice. ANet provides me with ongoing coaching to build my capacity while supporting me in equipping district leaders with the tools and resources they need to be both influential and impactful.”

-Julie B.

“Being the support and partner for leaders. Leaders often find themselves in lonely and isolating positions. (There is only one principal. One director. One superintendent.) I work at ANet so those leaders have someone they can be vulnerable with and trust to help them do what is right for students.”

-Julie P.

In your own words, why do you believe educational equity is important?

“Educational equity allows everyone the opportunity to have a place and voice at the table of life.”

-Clarice T.

“I have always felt that there's nothing I could do that's more important than working for educational equity.  And we need everyone, in every role, contributing to it. I feel fortunate that I get to do that from my seat.”

-Kori H.

“As a third-generation educator, I grew up witnessing the hard-work and dedication that educators did behind the scenes to help others. This left an imprint that the biggest lever to impacting change in communities is through serving others. Educational Equity is imperative to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to have a seat at the table (should they choose) to create their own pathway and positively contribute to their communities.”

-Chanel F.

How do you and your team's work impact ANet's mission?

“We provide support to the leaders who are responsible for all. Provide the push to help people recognize inequities and then make plans to eradicate those inequities.

-Julie P.

"Our team focuses on supporting school system leaders, who often set the vision, direction, and key academic strategies for a district.  Through a specific scope of academic work, we district leaders set goals that impact the entire system–from school leaders, to teachers, to students–and then coach and support them to enact plans and strategies to get there. Our work reaches so many schools and students!”

-Kori H.

“The System Services team is made up of risk takers and bold thinkers! I always leave huddles and team meetings with ways to adjust my approach, ground in data, and leverage my partners' individual strengths.”

-Julie B.

Describe one of your favorite memories or observations of your team:

“The System Services team consistently prioritizes ensuring people know that they are important. This could look like, reaching out on birthdays, virtual baby showers hosted by our "Sunshine Committee," sending thoughtful expressions when a team member is going through a difficult time.”

-Chanel F.

“We are all passionate about what we do, and we celebrate each other and what we can learn from each other.”

-Julie P.

“I love Offisite when all of the teams come together in one location. I love hearing about families, work and just good ol’ fun with other ANetters.”

-Clarice T.
