Great teachers strive to adjust their instruction to meet every student’s unique needs and strengths. But when you have a classroom full of students learning at various paces, differentiating instruction for every single one of them can feel like an impossible task.

Teachers at Mary Walsh Elementary School in Springfield, Mass., use qualitative data to differentiate instruction for students. In the first four minutes of this video, a third grade teacher explains her system of note-taking and how she uses it to adapt her next lesson.
